My Son’s Journal

A scrapbooking group I am on has an awesome challenge.  Make a Journal Jar.

WHAT IS A JOURNAL JAR?? Well, it is an empty jar, that you decorate, and then fill with Journaling prompt… such as

Do you have a hobby?

What is/was you favorite subject in school?

Did you have an Imaginary friend as a child?

List 5 things that make you happy..

Each day you sit down with your Journal and your jar… Pick a random  prompt out of the Jar, and then journal about that topic! This can be made for children or adults. I mean come on we aren’t getting any younger, who know how much longer we will remember some of these things. So write them down now, so they can be shared with family later.

I don’t have an empty Jar, so all I have done so far, is the Journal. I made this for my son, who LOVES to make up stories, and I want him to get everything on paper, so we NEVER forget his wonderful imagination.

I started with 2 sheets of Designer paper cut at 7 1/2 X 10 1/4 inches. My papers came from the Pressed Petals Fun Stac. Bought for just #5 at Big Lots.

2 sheets of coordinating paper cut 9 1/2 x 6 3/4 inches.

The 2 Designer papers, are the front and Back Cover, the 2 Coordinating papers are the inside covers.  I forgot to take pictures, but after you put the outside covers on, you cut in on the corners, so that you can wrap the paper over the edges. The inside cover is then placed to cover the folded edges, and to give a nice finished look.

And this is my finished project, I cut Letter’s to put his name on it. I also cut pieces from the single sheet of paper to add some embellishing.
